Chocolatepot's offerings:
Chocolatepot Auction #1
Organizations this auction benefits: Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.)
Type of fanwork: Written fanwork
Subtype(s): fan
fiction (new)
Fandom(s): Our Flag Means Death
Highest
rating: E
Length/scope: Less than 5k words.
Minimum Bid: $5
Especially interested in: Like most of us, I'm primarily an
Ed/Stede shipper! I would most prefer to write that and I will
probably give you a better fic if it's focused on them. I like writing
everything from angst to humor to porn, but I tend to lean to the
fluffier side; with hurt/comfort I tend to focus on the comfort in
present tense and hurt in past.
One thing I REALLY, REALLY love
is genderbending. I would be so happy if you gave me a prompt for
f!Ed/f!Stede fic and would really go all out to please you if you do.
And I love to write about clothes and interior decorating.
Unwilling to address: I absolutely hate Calico Jack and I'm generally only interested in writing Izzy if I'm exploring what on earth is wrong with that man (or woman, if a genderbend) or using him as an antagonist. Will not be taking any prompts where he is a particularly sympathetic character or the victim of Ed's abuse, or shipped with either or both Ed or Stede. Or, more generally, where Ed is required to be abusive for the plot, whether to Izzy, Stede, or anyone else.
Other notes: I said "less than 5k words" as a minimum, but I'm
very likely to go beyond that (especially if your donation ends up
being above the minimum).
I love specific/detailed prompts, but
also need to have some freedom not to include every single point if
the story doesn't seem to want to go there as I'm writing. I'd be
happy to send the fic to you for your approval before posting, and
maybe at regular check-ins (weekly, biweekly, at the halfway point,
etc) to make sure you like it and feel it fits with your prompt in
general.
Special interests: F/F ships, Genderswap/genderbending
Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 5 March 2024, to 8:00PM EST, 9 March
2024. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be
counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:
Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)
Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. If you would like to track changes to this bidding sheet, select Tools -> Notification Settings. Email notifications may not be immediate, so we do not recommend relying on them near the end of the auction period. Bookmark this sheet so you can check it manually. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.
Chocolatepot Auction #2
Organizations this auction benefits: Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.)
Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Specialist
expertise
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating:
E
Length/scope: 10 - 20k words.
Minimum Bid: $5
Fan labor details: Fashion history
Relevant experience/background: I have an MA in the history of fashion and textiles, and am a published author in the field. My specialty is European/Anglo-American dress from broadly 1400 to 1950 (more specifically 1700 to about 1930).
Other notes about labor offered: I will answer questions about what to call certain garments, how they fastened, what fabrics would be used in a particular setting, etc. and how to describe clothing or textiles in general, and I can read fics from historical fandoms to double-check clothing descriptions.
Especially interested in: I'll look over anything in a historical fandom set in Europe or North America, or a fantasy situation based on those settings.
Unwilling to address: None
Other notes: I'm happy to go back and forth a bit if needed. Don't consider this a one-off Q&A session (unless you want that).
Special interests: F/F ships, Poly ships, Genderswap/genderbending, Canonically trans or nonbinary characters, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters
