Especially interested in: As you can see from my ao3, my
interests are quite wide-ranging! Margo is the blorbo of my heart, but
I am equally interested (truly) in most of the main cast characters
from S1-3 and could be quite easily talked into writing about any of
them.
Left to my own devices, I tend to gravitate toward
canon-compliant (or probably more accurately canon-compatible)
gap-filling, but I'm happy to do canon divergences or even full AUs,
so long as I feel like I can do justice to the premise and make the
story-world still feel fully lived-in.
Unwilling to address:
My only really hard no is writing
sexual relationships between characters who are canonically in
well-established non-romantic male-female friendships (eg. Wayne and
Karen, Danielle and Ed.) Other than that, I bear no great love for
Miles Dale, and would need a very good prompt to get me interested in
S4-era Happy Valley more generally.
I should also probably
list things I am not super good at:
1) kink (not opposed! at all!
just not very creative when it comes to writing it)
2)
straightforwardly happy endings. That's not exactly a strength of mine
in general, and this canon is a good match for me: FAM is full of joy
and optimism, but these things rarely come for free, and it is
probably beyond my skill set to write a story that doesn't take
account of that.
Other notes: I would love to work collaboratively on developing a prompt! We could begin with just a seed of an idea, or you could bring me something much more developed -- as long as you're comfortable with some back and forth as we work out a prompt, we'll be good!
Special interests: F/F ships, Unhappy endings, Ambiguous endings
Other notes: My next few months are bonkers, and I'm not going to be able to dig into this until April or maybe even May.
Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 5 March 2024, to 8:00PM EST, 9 March
2024. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be
counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:
Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)
Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. If you would like to track changes to this bidding sheet, select Tools -> Notification Settings. Email notifications may not be immediate, so we do not recommend relying on them near the end of the auction period. Bookmark this sheet so you can check it manually. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.
tiltedsyllogism Auction #2
Organizations this auction benefits: Bellingcat *, Civil Rights Education and Enforcement Center *, Life After Hate, Never Again Action *, Razom *, Sherlock's Homes Foundation *, Spread the Vote, Environmental Org: Pollinator Partnership *, Environmental Org: Together Bay Area, Environmental Org: Coral Restoration Foundation * (See full list. * denotes an organization that accepts international donations.)
Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing,
Culture picking (Brit-picking, etc), Specialist expertise (about a
profession, hobby, subculture, etc)

upward
Minimum Bid: $10
Fan labor details: Yankpicking for non-Americans, Russia-picking, some limited assistance with Russian language
Relevant background/experience: I've lived in the US all my life other than a 4-month stint in Moscow.
Other notes about labor offered: I am offering Yankpicking for any
non-Americans in FAM fandom. If you’re looking for someone who can
help you purge your dialogue of non-American speech patterns, figure
out what cartoons Kelly Baldwin would have watched, or just make sure
you’re spelling Johnson Space Center correctly, I’m your gal.
also, plot twist: I can also furnish some limited expertise in
Russia! I was a Russian minor in college (many… many… years ago) and
though my knowledge of the language is quite rusty, I can dredge some
up to help you for bits and pieces of dialogue. More relevant is that
I lived in Moscow for several months in 1999, and I got to know the city pretty
well. Although the political landscape in Russia in the FAM timeline
obviously was/is different than our own, the arc of the FAMverse’s Glasnost
means that my memories of and experiences in Moscow could be a pretty great
resource for any Moscow-based story you want to tell that’s set between S3 and S4.
(also offering bog-standard beta reading, which can be bundled
in with either or both of the above)
Especially interested in:
Unwilling to address: If your story is about how character X is
an irredeemable piece of garbage, I'm going to have a hard time
helping you make it into the story you want. (If, however, you've
written such a character and would like help in figuring out how to
make them more textured, I am happy to help!)
I'd appreciate
some advance warning about anything really disturbing or upsetting in
your story, but I don't think there's anything I absolutely will not
tackle.
Other notes: My next few months are bonkers, and I'm not going to have the bandwidth to work with you on this until April or maybe even May.
